Savannah, GA is Building Lofts
Monday, November 19th, 2007Last weekend I was in Savannah, Georgia as my wife spoke at the Georgia Political Science Association Annual Conference. We stayed in the historic district at the Hilton on East Liberty which made for a convenient location. I spent much of the first afternoon walking in and around the surrounding neighborhoods enjoying the early 19th century charm.

There is a fair amount of construction and building conversion going on along Bay St. and Broughton with much of going towards modern loft-style spaces. The area is rich in architectural detail with many homes and structures dating to the early 1800s and picturesque side streets and squares. It’s very interesting to see these wonderful, older buildings becoming lofts - a great amalgamation of old and new.
